WHEN it comes to breaking records, there's no job too big or tall for Profile Communication.
The award-winning public relations company provided vital help recently in a successful bid to enter the Guinness Book of World Records.
Profile, which is based in Cheshire, was called in by its client Palletforce – the UK’s leading palletised distribution network – to help make the company’s dream of breaking a world record come true.
The attempt – the most number of adults reading to children in a single location – was undertaken to launch No Job Too Tall, a book specially created by Palletforce to inform children about the logistics industry.
The free event was held in the company’s 400,000 sq ft distribution hub, which was transformed for the night with fairground rides.
Michaela Strachan, from TV’s The Really Wild Show, flew from her home in South Africa to read the book.
According to Guinness rules, Palletforce had to ensure that more than 201 adults read to 201 children at the hub in Burton-upon-Trent. In the end, an incredible 650 people made their way to the hub to smash the record.
Guinness World Records later confirmed that a new record had been set.
Profile Communication managing director, Nicola Dufty, said: "We were delighted to be able to play our part in enabling Palletforce to break a world record. It was a wonderful event and confirms that effective PR can really make a difference.”
